graves of jews with the name adolf 2009

Edition 3 + 2 AP
It does feel strange to find gravestones with the name "Adolf" written on them on a Jewish cemetery in Berlin. But these people were regular Germans and the name Adolf used to be a very common German name. But still, if there is the grave of a Jew who died in the 1930s in Berlin and his name was Adolf that feels so absurd to me.
The Central Database of Shoah Victims' Names of Yad Vashem lists over 1000 persons with this name who have been killed by the Nazis. There are also 17 persons listed who's family name was Hitler. They lived in the Polish town of Ternopil, which is now part of the Ukraine.
